EPA’s Cleaner Trucks Initiative and CARB’s Advanced Clean Trucks Program will set in place the next tier of emissions standards and define the pace of adoption and integration of advanced engine technologies and after-treatment systems for heavy-duty vehicles. What is the state of the technology and the rules?

With EPA’s Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) for the Cleaner Trucks Initiative expected soon we wanted to gather virtually to discuss industry and regulator perspectives on these technologies and their costs and efficacy.

After discussions with EPA, CARB and other stakeholders, the Alliance for Vehicle Efficiency and CALSTART have agreed to co-convene a Webinar on July 21 to review the issues, explore the latest testing and research, understand technology cost and hold a discussion roundtable on the state of low NOx technology. The goal is to intelligently share the latest knowledge from a broad set of stakeholders to best inform next steps.
