The Center for Environmental Research and Technology (CE-CERT) participated in the Clean Air, Clean Solutions Showcase on Aug. 3 at the California State Capitol in Sacramento, joining organizations from across the state working to advance cleaner air and healthier communities.
The showcase brought together legislators, legislative staff, policymakers, community leaders, air districts, technology providers and members of the public to explore clean-air technologies, programs and partnerships. Exhibits highlighted zero-emission vehicles and equipment, air monitoring, community air protection initiatives and other approaches to improving air quality throughout California.
The CE-CERT team had a booth and shared information about the center’s research, facilities and capabilities and connected with attendees and fellow exhibitors working across air quality, transportation and clean energy. The team’s display also included a mobile emissions monitoring van.
CE-CERT also highlighted its long-standing partnership with the South Coast Air Quality Management District (AQMD). For more than three decades, CE-CERT and South Coast AQMD have collaborated on research and technology solutions that advance clean air, support informed policy and protect public health. Recent and ongoing work highlighted at the event spans community-based air quality monitoring, zero-emission transportation, heavy-duty vehicle technologies, freight emissions, grid readiness and other areas addressing California’s air quality challenges.
The event offered CE-CERT an opportunity to share its work beyond the research setting while strengthening connections with agencies, organizations and technology partners addressing environmental challenges across the state.
