Dr. Abhilash Vijayan is a Research Faculty at the Center for Environmental Research and Technology (CE-CERT) and an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering at UC Riverside. His work focuses on the design and implementation of research, regulatory, and community-based programs addressing air quality and climate change. His expertise includes regulatory analysis, emissions inventory development, ambient air quality monitoring, and real-world emissions measurements.  He has led major projects in air quality management and planning, air pollution and toxics monitoring, as well as greenhouse gas and methane emissions research. Prior to joining CE-CERT, he served as Vice President and Air Quality Practice Area Leader at Sonoma Technology and Director of the Climate and Community Air Quality Programs at Spheros Environmental, following a 12-year tenure at the California Air Resources Board (CARB) where he managed the Agency’s emissions and exposure research portfolio. He received his M.S. and Ph.D. from the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Toledo, and is a licensed Professional Engineer in both Chemical and Environmental Engineering. He also serves as a Global Air Quality Fellow with the U.S. Department of State.
