From March 7-9, the University of California, Riverside (UCR) EcoCAR team participated in the Year 3 Winter Workshop for the EcoCAR EV Challenge, hosted by the California Air Resources Board (CARB) at the UCR School of Business. This event marked a significant milestone in the competition, providing opportunities for innovation, hands-on testing, and professional growth.

Led by Argonne National Laboratory, the workshop brought together EcoCAR teams from various universities, along with industry experts and sponsors. Key activities included dynamometer testing of propulsion systems, detailed technical design reviews, and collaborative sessions with professionals from companies such as General Motors, Magna International, AVL, and Stratacomm. These interactions offered the UCR team invaluable insights and direct mentorship, enhancing their technical and project management skills.

In addition, the EcoCAR team partnered with CARB to host a STEM outreach event on March 10, engaging over 150 local K-8 students. Participants had hands-on experiences building and testing their own batteries, fostering excitement and curiosity in STEM fields.
