On October 13th, 2022 CE-CERT presented several projects at the Night of Art and Innovation in Downtown Riverside! Our new Solar-Hydrogen Cycle Kit was freshly displayed to show a little preview of the type of research CE-CERT is looking to contribute to.
UCR/CE-CERT's EcoCar group showed off their efforts to engineer a next generation battery electric vehicle (BEV) that utilizes automation and vehicle-to-everything (V2X) connectivity to implement energy efficient and customer-pleasing features, while meeting the decarbonization need of the automotive industry. 15 North American universities have been selected to compete in the EcoCAR EV Challenge.
CE-CERT was also happy to share space with UCR's Multimodal Optics Group from Dr. Luat Vuong's research group. Dr. Vuong is currently a tenure-track assistant professor in Mechanical Engineering at UCR with cooperating faculty memberships in Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, and Physics Departments. Their display showed audio via optics and how electrical audio signals interact with circuits and transmitted light.
