On May 10, 2019, CE-CERT hosted the 36th Annual Informal Symposium on Kinetics and Photochemical Processes in the Atmosphere (ISKPPA) at the Bourns Technology Center. This one-day symposium brought together over 130 researchers, students, and faculty from across Southern California to share their work on recent advancements in atmospheric chemistry. Universities from across Southern California were represented, including a number of students from Caltech and the University of California and Cal State systems. Students and other attendees presented posters, which were introduced through a 1-min madness session.

The symposium featured three invited speakers: Dr. William Porter, Assistant Professor of Atmospheric Dynamics and Modeling at UC Riverside; Dr. Mads Andersen, Assistant Professor at California State University, Northridge; and Dr. Kimberly Prather, Distinguished Chair in Atmospheric Chemistry at UC San Diego. The day concluded with tours of the CE-CERT facility. This symposium was sponsored by the California Air Resources Board, the South Coast Air Quality Management District, the Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering at UCR, and the Bourns College of Engineering—Center for Environmental Research and Technology.
