Riverside, Ca –

The Center for Environmental Research and Technology (CE-CERT) is pleased to partner with UC Riverside’s Office of Sustainability in its efforts to make a difference in the areas of public health, air quality, and climate change through participation in the Coalition for Clean Air’s California Clean Air Day Event on October 3, 2018. The objective of this event is raise awareness of our region’s unhealthy air quality, and to demonstrate to the public that everyone can take action through a variety of ways, including participating in the Clean Air Pledge. Interested parties can pledge to take steps as simple as carpooling and planting more trees, or can commit to larger actions such as launching a full-scale clean air media campaign.

CE-CERT will support this event by welcoming the public to an Open House, which will be held at the Center on October 3, 2018 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, and will feature interactive tours of the Center’s research laboratories as well as a series of short talks given by CE-CERT graduate student researchers on various climate and air quality issues.

“The University of California, Center for Environmental Research and Technology looks forward to engaging students, faculty and stakeholders at our Open House on October 3 as part of California Clean Air Day.  We are proud to help raise awareness of this event as a part of our efforts to address society’s most pressing environmental challenges in air, energy, and transportation,” stated Nicole Cleary, CE-CERT Deputy Director.

Other organizations committed to Clean Air Day include Blue Shield of California, Dignity Health, Foothill Transit, Lyft, and the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power.
