2024 Annual Report of the Center for Environmental Research and Technology (CE-CERT)
With 88 active research projects totaling $38 million in funding, CE-CERT continues to lead in advancing air quality, renewable energy, and sustainable transportation solutions. In 2024, CE-CERT was recognized with the Leadership in Air Quality Award by the South Coast Air Quality Management District, honoring over 30 years of scientific excellence and public impact. Our research teams tackled emissions from heavy-duty vehicles and container ships, pioneered hydrogen safety infrastructure, and launched new educational initiatives like the ACT training program—all while mentoring 87 students across engineering and environmental disciplines.
