For the past five years, the Bourns College of Engineering Center for Environmental Research and Technology (CE-CERT), the Center for Sustainable Suburban Development (CSSD), and the Southern California Research Initiative for Solar Energy (SC-RISE) have welcomed a number community leaders and partners to converge on the state of solar technology. Most recently, the February 2019 two day Solar Energy Conference discussed the important nexus between water and solar energy, including the latest technology, current public policy and regulations, energy economics, and the associated environmental and sustainability benefits of renewable energy. The conference program included a series of panel discussions, keynote presentations, and case studies.
