A key strategy in achieving healthy air quality in our inland empire region is the implementation of wide-spread electric transportation. However, there are many questions about how electric transportation will impact our existing infrastructure. Research conducted using the SIGI testbed is instrumental in addressing stakeholder concerns such as how EV use will affect energy availability and distribution, and to study how renewable energy can be coupled with storage to support the use of widespread electric vehicles and minimize grid fluctuations.
