Solar Energy in Inland Southern California: The Future is Now

Agenda with Presentation Links

On behalf of the Bourns College of Engineering – Center for Environmental Research and Technology; the Center for Sustainable Suburban Development; and the Southern California Research Initiative for Solar Energy, welcome to the first solar conference at the University of California, Riverside --  “Solar Energy in Inland Southern California: The Future is Now.”

This conference is designed to inform attendees about the importance of solar energy by discussing the latest technology, public policy and regulations, economics, and opportunities for incorporating solar energy in Inland Southern California communities.

We believe solar energy can play a significant role in the region’s future, not only because of the abundance of sunlight afforded to the region and its potential as another source of efficient and cost effective energy, but as an integral contributor to Inland Southern California’s employment base.

We are fortunate in having many of the solar energy industry’s leading experts with us today, and an impressive group of individuals who will share outstanding solar energy programs that are in place in their organizations.

Finally, we would like to thank all of our sponsors for helping to make this conference possible. We hope this will be the first of an annual conference at UCR on the contributions of solar energy to the quality of life in Inland Southern California.
