Dr. Xuewei Qi is a Researcher & PI from the intelligent and sustainable transportation research group of CE-CERT at University of California Riverside, working with Prof. Matthew J. Barth His current research focuses on connected and automated vehicles (CAV), intelligent and sustainable transportation and machine learning as well as evolutionary computation (including swarm intelligence). His research goal is to design and apply various artificial intelligence algorithms to solve the optimization, prediction and control problems in connected and automated vehicle applications with a emphasis on improving energy efficiency for both single vehicle level and connected vehicle network level.

Xuewei received his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineer in 2016. Dr. Qi earned his B.S. in Automation from China Agricultural University (Beijing) and M.S. in Engineering from University of Georgia at Athens. He has published several papers in the top conferences and journals in the area such as, IEEE conference for intelligent transportation system, IEEE Intelligent Vehicles Symposium, Transporting Research Board (TRB) Annual meeting, IEEE transections of Intelligent transportation system. International conference of Evolutionary Methods. Journal of Frontiers of Environmental Science and Engineering.
