Xuewei Qi


xeuweiXuewei Qi is a Ph.D. student from Electrical and Computer Engineering department at UC Riverside. He is now working under Prof. Matthew Barth as research assistant here at CE-CERT. He is currently developing many intelligent data related algorithms for the design, optimization, prediction and operation problems occur in intelligent transportation system (ITS). (e.g., intelligent energy management systems for Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles, Traffic states prediction, Cooperative adaptive cruise control).

Xuewei’s research area includes evolutionary computation, machine learning, estimation and prediction; Intelligent transportation System (ITS), Connected Vehicle Technology, traffic/vehicle predictive and optimal control. His research goal is to design and apply various efficient Artificial Intelligence techniques to improve the Mobility, Safety as well as the environmental impact of existing transportation system.

Xuewei received his B.S. in Automation from China Agricultural University (Beijing) and M.S. in Engineering from University of Georgia at Athens. He has published several papers in the top conferences and journals in the area such as, IEEE conference for intelligent transportation system, IEEE Intelligent Vehicles Symposium, Transporting Research Board (TRB) Annual meeting, IEEE transections of Intelligent transportation system. International conference of Evolutionary Methods. Journal of Frontiers of Environmental Science and Engineering.
