CE-CERT Researchers Partner with the California Air Resources Board for Off-Road Diesel Equipment Data Collection

August 14, 2017

Researchers from the Emissions and Fuels team are working with the California Air Resources Board to better understand the impact of emissions from construction and agricultural equipment on air quality.

The first study, already underway, is evaluating the typical operational patterns and activities from the construction sector, including off-highway trucks, excavators, and tractors. The research will provide key information to the regulators as they develop new emission control strategies for construction equipment. This data will update the pre-2010 and largely non-California survey data set that is currently being used.

A planned second phase will address agricultural equipment.
